I’m 99.99% there with the Jalview 2.8.2 release, but need people to test the updated local installers.
If you have some time, please try out the following:
Webstart: http://www.jalview.org/builds/nextrel/webstart/jalview.jnlp
Install Anywhere installers: http://www.jalview.org/builds/nextrel/Web_Installers/install.htm
(note - the java applet won’t work, but the download links do).

Those links worked for me on Mavericks.
After a couple of 404 responses to the /Web_Installers/ URL, which then worked (like yesterday).
