2.10.1 is WebStart, 2.10.0 is local install, but both have a max heap setting of 256M (actually 255M for installed app). Should we increase this?

Anyway the point is - what used to run out of memory, now doesn’t. 😊

Yes … We can bump default memory but I’d like the launch desktop button to configure memory settings (or even a local config). A small setting is still good for small memory systems (e.g. virtual machines… Etc).

Yes, good to see that thanks to Mungo’s optimisations Jalview needs less memory when calculating the consensus!!

Push button memory selection from the webstart would be good. We have had this for almost two years on the JPred results page (see attached image).
