Dear jalview team,
I frequently add to my alignments notes to highlight domains or add my annotations.
At present I add an helix or sheet and label this accordingly. However, I can choose only between the red helix and the green sheet.
However, I wonder, whether it might be difficult to extend this menu (right click on annotations) to have a simple box in the annotation with variable colors and text (like sheets and helices).
Kind regards
Jochen
Hi Jochen.

This is technically feasible, but we've got a few housekeeping issues
that make adding symbol colour chooser a little more complex.
I created an issue about this on the bug tracker - it needs more work to
specify exactly what's needed..
http://issues.jalview.org/browse/JAL-1972
basically - we'd need to add a new type of annotation row for 'domain'
style annotation, which would allow different styles and colours of
symbol, and also have an editor to pick from the different domain
labels/styles already defined to make it easy to create new annotation.
feel free to comment directly on the bug!
Jim.
