Question regarding 'mouseover' in Sequence ID field

Hello,
I have imported sequences using uniprot accession numbers.

They come up no problem, for example Q16623. The Sequence ID is long, e.g. UniProt/Swiss-Prot|Q16623|O15447|O15448|Q12936|Q75MD9|Q9BPZ6|STX1A_HUMAN, but manageable.

What is really really problematic is anytime your mouse cursor moves over the Sequence ID window, what seems to be every accession for every database ever comes up, e.g. all the UniProt references, EMBL, IPI, Refseq, Unigene, SMR, DIP DIP, IntAct, and on and on, taking up 1/2 the monitor. I want to turn that off, and don’t care about all those entries anyways… how can I do this?

That shows what I am talking about - anytime my mouse is over the sequence name, it pops up like that and is unbearable.

Is it possible to turn this off?

Otherwise seems like a fantastic program…

Thanks all,

Not in version 2.4, but it is in the development version which will be released in a month or two. If you take a look at the jalview development version (see www.jalview.org/versions.html), you'll find a new submenu under the View menu of the alignment window that allows you to enable or disable the sequence ID tooltip content.

Otherwise seems like a fantastic program...

thanks!

happy jalviewing...
Jim.
