Problems installing on Mac

To whom it may concern,
I am trying to install Jalview on Mac with a Cataline operating system. However, when I click on the link it does not work.
Can you provide directions on downloading Jalview for a Mac?

Hi Misti,

Thank you for pointing out the Catalina link isn’t quite right! It should be https://www.jalview.org/getdown/release/install4j/1.8/Jalview-OFFLINE_macos-app_2_11_0-j8.dmg – please try that URL and see if you can install that.
I’ll fix the link ASAP!

Please let us know if that fixes your problem and Jalview installs okay.

Hi,

Another option on macOS is to use the package manager homebrew: https://brew.sh/

Then just type:

brew cask install jalview

I just tried it right now on Catalina, it worked.
