I've tried using Jalview Desktop on Ubuntu, but one thing is not working
- the fetching of sequences. The window doesn't display anything (see
attached screenshot)
Unfortunately, this is a known issue on Ubuntu that we haven't yet
patched (http://issues.jalview.org/browse/JAL-2255).
There is a workaround - although the list of databases is not visible,
if you press the up and down arrow keys, the selected database is
displayed.
