Hi

We were at a workshop run by Biochemistry Society at University of Liverpool:

https://www.biochemistry.org/Events/tabid/379/MeetingNo/TD010/view/Conference/Default.aspx

and were on their guestnet wireless, which was using jalview quite a lot throughout. Every time we tried to open jalview it froze and we couldn’t click on any windows or even close the program without Ctrl-Alt-Deleteing!

Today, on the same laptop, on the imperial college network, it’s working fine!

Hi Ciarán,

I’m not aware of similar problems reported before, so this could be a challenge to diagnose!

Did Jalview display anything or hang immediately on launch?

Was anyone else able to run Jalview?

What o/s version are you running?

Thanks,

Mungo

Hi

It hung immediately upon launch and we couldn’t click any windows in the jalview window (close, move, minimise etc.). Had to Ctrl-Alt-Del to shut down. Now working fine! I don’t think anyone had Jalview working in the room.

I’m using Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1 (64 bit)
