Just to let everyone know,
I have added PrivilegedAccessor and its wrapper class PA to the test suite under https://issues.jalview.org/browse/JAL-2472.
This is a convenience class that uses reflection to allow you to read / write / call private members / methods of any object.
It can be useful for setting up awkward to reach test preconditions, and avoids changing visibility of fields or methods just for test purposes.
I think of it as a last resort rather than a routine tool.
