No longer able to launch Jalview on Mac

Hello,

I have been using Jalview in the past on my Mac successfully, but I am no longer able to launch the application.

When I doubleclick on the Jalview app icon I get an error message saying “Unable to launch the application”. When I click on Details, it says: “Error: JAR resources in JNLP file are not signed by same certificate”.

I am using OS X 10.10.2 (Yosemite). In “System Preferences”, under “Security & Privacy”, I already allowed apps downloaded from Anywhere.

Any idea how I can launch Jalview?

Thanks,
Matteo

I had the same problem yesterday. Just redownloaded the latest Java applet and everything worked just fine.

Hi Mungo and Ricardo,

Thank you for the prompt reply. I deleted the current Jalview app and downloaded a new one from the link you provided, and that seems to have solved the problem.

Thanks again! I love Jalview and really appreciate your work.

Best,
Matteo
