Hi Andreas - just checked back through the release notes and Bob Hanson switched to semantic versioning back in 2016, so there is now no special ‘odd’/‘even’ meaning (as far as I am aware).
Bob - Andreas Tille is taking a look at how much work it will be to update Jmol’s debian package and the first question that came up is versioning. There may be more questions to come - perhaps discuss face to face today during the Jalview/SwingJS hangout !
