We are very pleased to announce that Jalview version 2.8.2 is now available (just in time for our Jalview course in London on 15th December <http://www.jalview.org/training/training-courses/Jalview-London-2014-One-Day-Workshop>!).
This release is the first one produced by our new core development team and also includes features first developed by our 2012 Jalview summer of code student, Anne Menard. It brings new features for the display of sequence associated annotation from predictions and associated structural data, export of figures as Scalable Vector Graphics, and experimental support for the use of UCSF Chimera for the display of structures associated with alignment views. Take a look at the Jalview 2.8.2 Release Notes <http://www.jalview.org/development/release-history/Version-282> for the comprehensive list of bug fixes and improvements, and let us know about what you think via the jalview-discuss list, or http://issues.jalview.org.
Happy Jalviewing!
Jim Procter, on behalf of Charles, Mungo, Suzanna, and Geoff.
