Version 2.8.1 of Jalview is now available for download at www.jalview.org.
This is the third release in the 2.8.x series of Jalview, and in addition to a liberal scattering of bug fixes, provides new support for RNA secondary structure prediction, additional score models for tree-building and PCA, and several minor improvements to Jalview's user interface.
We're also proud to highlight features in this release contributed by the Jalview developer community:
* The client for the JABA VIENNA RNAalifold service was implemented by Daniel Barton, our 2013 summer student
* Support for different languages in the Jalview user interface which was introduced by David Roldán Martínez
* A Spanish translation of Jalview's user interface was created by Sara Hernández Díaz and Laura Ferrandis Martinez.
Full details of the new features and bugs fixed in version 2.8.1 can be found at http://www.jalview.org/development/release-history/281
Jalview's development is funded by support from the UK's Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the Wellcome Trust. Its core development team is based in Dundee, but we are always on the look out for people to help out with testing, bug fixing, and implementation of new features. Happy Jalviewing!
