Dear Jalviewers.
Jalview 2.11.4.0 is now available for download and automatic update. This is the fourth in the Jalview 2.11 minor release trilogy, and includes a new sequence similarity projection tool, PaSiMap, contributed by Thomas Morell and Jennifer Fleming with support from the Mayans Group, Uni Konstanz.
Jalview 2.11.4.0 also brings support for visualising the consensus secondary structure for an alignment. This was implemented by the newest member of Jalview’s development team, Renia Correya, and is accompanied by a new protein secondary structure similarity score function that can be used to calculate trees and PCAs to visualise secondary structure diversity.
Lastly, this release features a new installer, which allows Jalview to be installed as a read-only program on systems used by multiple users. Administrators can also control which version of Jalview will be launched and when it will update with the new jalview_update
command-line tool. Check out the instructions for administrators installing Jalview for more information.
As ever, full details and links to original development discussions can be found in the 2.11.4.0 release notes.
