I installed Java 1.7.0_71 and after some searching and fiddling, found that if I defined this user library:
and added it to the project’s build path, then all classes needed for the applet were resolved successfully.
plugin.jar needed for the likes of netscape.javascript.JSObject.
deploy.jar needed for com.sun.deploy.appcontext.AppContext.
No idea if that is the ‘right’ way to do it, but it does work!
