Hello Jalviewers!
Over the next few days the login process for the Jalview Discussion Forum login page will change in appearance.
Don’t worry, your existing username and password will stay the same with the same forum account!
The login page will change location to https://login.jalview.org/ and it will look like this:
When you log in for the first time after it changes you will be asked to check and verify your email address, with the opportunity to change it if you no longer have access to the email address you originally signed up with:
Since this will be the first time you’ve used the new login form you can ignore the Sign out from other devices checkbox.
You will then be sent an email (from Jalview Login with subject Verify new email) containing a link that will allow you to verify the email address. If you don’t receive this within a couple of minutes, check your Spam folder and, failing that, try logging in to the Jalview Discussion Forum again where you will get the same opportunity to change your email address.
The link in the email should bring you to a page that looks like this:
indicating your email address has been verified. Click on the « Back to Application link to go back to the forum, where you can log in properly.
After this initial verification the login process will be much as before but with a (subjectively) prettier login page.
