muscle web service error

Hi

First time I have used a web service :frowning:

OS 10.3; Jalview latest build off Andrew's webpage as normal. Across my cable internet connection from home (yes, I am that sad). The job was just a simple muscle alignment for around 20 sequences with 100-150 columns, input as a fasta file and behaving fine in Jalview. My local copy of muscle can align it fine.

See below - it looks like a problem in the job submission parameters?

Also, the Cancel button on the dialog box announcing this failure was greyed out. The GUI fanatic in me says that this should be OK or Close, not a Cancel anyway. Sorry.

sorry it didn't work - I noticed something was up on friday but left
before I could fix it. It turns out there was a problem with the server,
not least of which was its lack of an intelligent error response!

Have a go with the same set of sequences - it should work fine now!

I'll note this - the 'webservice dialog' windows are still quite messy
and under slow but constant flux ATM.

I have to comment on the gui fanatic in you though (sorry - I'm a little
obsessed about usability too). What you suggest would essentially be
putting an OK or close button in the same place as a cancel button. This
may lead to someone cancelling a job when they just mean to close the
window, although in this case, you lose your job anyway - cancel
*really* cancels.. where as closing the window just tells jalview to
forget about the job.
